We do not wish to make profit from this item. Our seamstresses handcraft these cushions to help and support those who are recovering from breast cancer surgery. Postage is free of charge and donations made to The Pink Ribbon Foundation and Primrose Foundation for every cushion purchased.

After a lumpectomy, mastectomy and/or breast reconstruction, you are likely to feel tender for several weeks, sometimes months. Having breast surgery changes the balance of weight on your chest muscles. Until you heal and your body adjusts, using this cushion can help to provide comfort and support during the day and particularly at night if you are having to sleep in a more upright position or need extra support when lying down. This comfort and support will help you to sleep better and everything we do at Devon Duvets is aimed at doing just that.
We developed our comfort cushion with the help of one of the Devon Duvets team who has experienced breast cancer surgery herself, and found her comfort cushion an invaluable part of her recovery. Designed to cushion your armpit and side of your breast or chest wall, the reassurance and comfort these cushions offer can help alleviate some of the discomfort felt during what can be a difficult and emotional time. The wool filling is naturally breathable, temperature regulating and moisture wicking, making it feel comfy and comforting next to tender, sore areas.
Our comfort cushions are individually handcrafted with love by skilled seamstresses in our Devon workshops. We use soft, hand teased 100% British wool that is natural and chemical free. The wool is encased in beautiful 100% BCI cotton* and there are two ties, made with soft natural twill. The twill ties can be tied to hold the cushion in place when in use.
As going through breast cancer is a difficult time, we wanted to find a way to make our Comfort Cushion affordable. So, we made the decision to carry the cost of the materials and postage ourselves and only make a nominal charge to contribute towards our seamstresses' time in making them. This cushion is not a qualifying item for our bed linen offer.

Dispatch Information:
Dispatch Days: Our dispatch days are Monday – Friday, excluding Bank Holidays, and deliveries are normally made on working days.
Dispatch Timing: We aim to dispatch orders on the same day if ordered before 12:30pm (Mon- Fri). However, as each of our duvets, pillows and mattress toppers is individually handcrafted by our seamstresses in Devon, please bear in mind that during peak or busy periods, there may be a slight delay in the dispatch of your order.
Bespoke Products: Bespoke products usually take no more than 2 weeks but timings will be given at the time of ordering.

Wool is naturally resistant to dust mites and micro bacteria, which makes it more hygienic than the filling in many other pillows. Please note that our care instructions for our wool pillows vary, depending on which pillow you have. We have provided details below:
This pillow is filled with hand fluffed, loose wool inside a zipped 100% cotton casing. We recommend regular airing, which can be done outside (if the weather is dry) or on a clothes airer near an open window, allowing the air to get right around the pillow. This helps to keep the wool nice and fresh.
If a more thorough clean is required, please remove the fluffed wool (using the zip in the casing) and air the wool separately.
The casing can be washed on a cool cotton wash, using a suitable detergent. The casing can be tumble dried or air dried. We do not recommend dry cleaning this pillow as this process uses chemicals.
This pillow is filled with hand fluffed, loose wool inside a zipped quilted 100% cotton casing that has a layer of wool inside. We recommend regular airing, which can be done outside (if the weather is dry) or on a clothes airer near an open window, allowing the air to get right around the pillow. This helps to keep the wool fresh.
If a more thorough clean is required, please remove the fluffed wool from inside the casing using the zip and air the wool separately.
The quilted casing can be washed on a 30 degrees wool cycle, using a detergent specifically created for wool. A gentle spin to remove excess water and then remove immediately from the machine, reshape and air dry. Do not tumble dry. We do not recommend dry cleaning as this process uses chemicals.
This pillow is filled with layers of wool in a sealed 100% cotton casing. We recommend regular airing and this is best done by unfolding the pillow. Airing can be done outside (if the weather is dry) or on a clothes airer near an open window, to allow the air to get right around the pillow.
If a deeper clean is required our folding pillow can be machine washed (unfolded) on a 30 degrees wool cycle and using a detergent specifically created for wool. A gentle spin to remove excess water before removing immediately from the machine, reshape and air dry thoroughly. Do not tumble dry. We do not recommend dry cleaning as this process uses chemicals.
This pillow is filled with hand fluffed loose wool. We recommend regular airing and this will help to keep the wool fresh. If a deeper clean is required, the pillow can be washed on a 30 degrees wool wash and using a detergent specifically created for wool. A gentle spin cycle to remove excess water and then take immediately out of the machine, reshape and air dry. During the air drying process, we recommend that you very gently 'tease' the wool through the casing, which will help in the re-fluffing process. Do not tumble dry. We do not recommend dry cleaning as this process uses chemicals.

Little Lana Original Wool Pillow:
This pillow is from our Children's range** and measures 60cm x 40cm. It is lower in height than our standard 'adult' Original Wool Pillow. The height of this pillow can also be adjusted by removing some of wool via the zip in the casing. Keep any excess wool for re-stuffing as required.
Little Lana 2-Fold Wool Pillow:
This pillow is from our Children's range** and measures 60cm x 40cm (when folded). It is lower in height than our 'adult' sized 2-Fold Pillow.
